Welcome to Backyard Birding Forum
I recently started feeding birds in my backyard again, and it has been a welcomed distraction for me. I see it almost as therapy, like staring at fish when I used to have a fish tank.
I started looking for information online, but had some difficulty in finding an online community. You see, I've been rather spoiled by various car and paintball forums where I can jump on poke around or ask a question and get answers. Sure there are a fair number of message boards out there with some information, but I find that message boards, by their very nature are messy, and clumsy.
So here we are. I happened upon the thought of starting a forum. The example of Dr. Ing hc Ferdinand Porsche, founder of Porsche GmBh, comes to mind when as he said, "I couldn't find the car I'd been dreaming of, and so I decided to build it myself."
The purpose of this forum is to serve as a “meeting place” for members to share information and the joys of bird watching and/or feeding, tips and tricks, photos and stories... you name it. Really, just about anything related to birds is fair game.
This is also my first attempt at creating and running an online forum, so needless to say, I'm also open to any suggestions or advice in running this site.
