the wife called this morning all excited about a mummy turkey and a bunch of baby turkeys in our backyard.

so apparently, they've been roaming around our backyard and the neighbour's all day.

wow.  i can't believe i waited so long to post these pics.

Really, that is a rare treat indeed. Great shots. They are such shy, elusive creatures.

I love chicks of any species of birds. All fuzzy cuteness and perfection! Wish there was a good close up of the babies. Are they still hanging around? I wish I could have heard Becky's reaction when she saw them.

... hahaha, it also appears you have been procrastinating with mowing your lawn. ;o)

unfortunately, we haven't since them again since.

becky's reaction was hilarious.  she called me and WHISPERED.  like the turkey could have heard her from out in the yard. 

that's not my lawn.  the pics were taken when they were in the neighbour's yard, the lower portion where the retaining wall is.  the house was empty at the time.

LOL!!! That is too funny. I can picture that too.

I wonder where they went. I almost drove off the road once after spotting wild turkeys ... that was a long time ago. They are not easy to spot.

Was it the house with all those obnoxious skate-boarding kids?
