    Hello

Hi, my names Lisa and I live in Summerville, SC. I started getting into bird watching in  my backyad last fall. I have 9 different types of feeders, a water fountain, bird bath and 4 bird houses. I went all out. I think I  am addicted. I don't work so I spend most of my time with my binoculars and bird books learning all the different kinds of bird. I have learned a great deal. I'd like to ask a question on bluebird houses. I put up the nest box 3 weeks ago and I now have chickadees making a nest in it. But I also have been having the bluebirds checking it out. So I went and bought a 2nd one and put it up about 3 feet from the other one, hoping the bluebirds would just go to the new one. Well they are still scoping both out, but now the chickadees are making a nest in the new one also. Will the bluebirds just take over one of the boxes? I really want the bluebirds to nest there and not have the chickadees on both boxes.I appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks so much. Lisa in SC

    Re: Hello

Welcome to the site! Sounds like you sure are addicted.

If I were you I'd just buy another bluebird box. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll get into the new one before the chickadees do.

    Re: Hello

Thanks for the reply. I do have 2 bluebird houses now, plus another house nearby and the bluebirds are checking that out now so I am hopeful. Thanks again Matt.
