I bought 4 of these nesting baskets from bestnest.com a few months back - they were around $6 each. I hung all 4 underneath my back deck - it's about 5 ft off the ground. Can't really hang them from a tree - they are just woven twigs and vines and wouldn't offer much protection from rain but under the deck edge they do fine.

I suspected something was in a few of them a couple weeks ago when I saw fresh moss in 3 of them.

While weedeating today I saw a brownheaded nuthatch fly out of there. Found one of them full of eggs!.

saw these last weekend and bought 3.  put them out last weekend, but really don't know where is good and where isn't.

nothing yet so far.

Cool! I hope you get some nice birds in there! That looks to be a better quality nest than what I have.

i cannot help but to wonder if they're simply too exposed.  i don't have a discrete place to hide them though.

I've got a carolina wren in one of mine this year. The other 2 are empty so far.

I'm not really sure. All of them had some sort of nesting built up in them but the only bird I ever spotted was the nuthatch.
