    What is this bird?

    What is this bird called? It is a frequent visitor on both seed feeders and suet cakes.

    looks like a female grosbeak

    I thought the grosebeaks had white and red?

    There are many species of Grosbeaks. The one you mentioned is probably the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks. Also, the females have different coloured plumage (dimorphic) than the males - much duller - for camoflage during nesting season.

    I think Matt is correct in his assessment. Looks like a female RB Grosbeak.
