since i'm stingy and did not feel like spending money on a dedicated woodpecker feeder, i modified my existing one to help out the woodpeckers.

i read somewhere that they need to somewhere on which to palce their tail so that they are properly supported.

terribly crude, but i'm rather proud of myself nonetheless.  not bad for 5 minutes' work.

Hopefully you will be able to get some good pictures of this mod in functioning use.
