Yesterday some birder friends and I spent the day down at the Delaware Bay....Cumberland Country, NJ.
Birds of note....
I was most impressed by the 8 Bald Eagles we spotted! Yellow-rumped Warblers were seen in abundance. As were Ruddy Ducks. We spotted quite a few Red-tailed Hawks. Only saw one Cooper's Hawk; no Sharpies. There were large groups of Horned Lark, with some Pipets mixed in. Quite a large number of Hermit Thrush and Boat-tailed Grackles were seen.
I've noted 62 species in all.
I've also added 5 new species to my list....
*Long-tailed Duck
*Pine Siskin
*American Pipet
*Sandhill Crane (There's a group of 8 that's been seen around Salem and Cumberland Counties.)
*Bufflehead
